Under the baton of Giovanni Pasini, Qatar Concert Choir regularly shares the stage with professional instrumentalists from the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra, Cinemoon Ensemble, and the Doha Baroque Ensemble (the latter two members of the Qatar Philharmonic), and professional vocal soloists including Felicitas Fuchs, Stefanie Iranyi, Clint van der Linde and Benjamin Williamson. We are not associated with any particular religion or spiritual path. The Choir welcomes new members at the beginning of each season in September and February. There is no audition, and no vocal experience is required, just a desire to sing in harmony with others. Our aim is to re-integrate singing into the daily routines of life. We sing for the pure joy and pleasure it gives us, in an atmosphere that is fun, relaxed, and accepting. Our repertoire consists of both traditional and new songs from many cultures. The majority are sung a cappella (unaccompanied) in 4-part harmony. The Choir is divided into three chapters, each practicing the same material on either Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. The Choir represented Singapore at the 2018 World Choir Games in Tshwane, South Africa, and brought home a gold and a silver medal in separate categories. In 2017, TGS emerged champion for the chamber category in the 5th Vietnam International Choir Competition. Under the leadership of music director, Adyll Hardy, TGS has performed full-length concerts at the Esplanade Recital Studio, Victoria Concert Hall, SOTA Concert Hall and YST Conservatory Concert Hall. For its fifth anniversary, the Choir launched its debut EP, now available on Spotify and iTunes. In new season the Choir continues to make up steps towards new artistic activities. The main activities of the Choir are finding the new ways to music, its expresion and presenting new ideas, cooperation with composers and many professional musicians. Now, the Choir Mūza is making a new image and wants to show multiplicity of the Choir music. In its programs the Choir performes modern music and a big part is left of Latvian classical music as well as traditional Latvian folk-music. The Choir Mūza was established in 1947. Its founder and leader through out many years has been maestro Leonids Vigners (1906-2001). In 1999 the Choir transferred into new direction and it became a youth Choir.
