LYRICS:
Rejoice, rejoice, your light has come, rejoice!
Come every soul descending in dismay
Who dreams to overcome this darkening day,
Dispel the myths of mystery, and from these heavy chains you shall be free, Rejoice!
Rejoice, the Light is here to help you find
Some brightening of your shadow weary mind;
To clear the tears of loss and pain,
Restore you hope for life again,
Rejoice, rejoice, your healing has begun,
So dance for joy, the victory is won!
O Lift your head and do not be afraid,
Receive the gift as ransom freely paid.
Release the ones you hold in misery
And love will conquer every enemy.
Rejoice, rejoice, the Hope of Nations, call.

This indigenous community, often referred to as The Colorados, is located in the northern coastal region of Ecuador. In the face of modernization, music serves as a tool for this group to preserve their history, traditions, and culture. Tsáchilas music-making includes dance, philosophy, spirituality, cultural traditions, and community involvement with a strong connection to nature and respect for the land.
By singing this piece, our ensemble is actively helping to protect and promote the Tsáchila community. A portion of the proceeds from our purchase of the score has been sent to the community to assist in the preservation of their culture.

Tomislav Veršić in the school year 1992/93 by merging two school ensembles founded a year earlier: Girls’ Choir, and traditional Dalmatian male vocal group (so-called “klapa”) “Šufit”. At the end of the following school year, the choir participated for the first time at the Croatian Youth Music Festival, choral competition which is traditionally held in Varaždin, thereby winning the Silver Plaque. In 1996 the performance of the choir at the same event was rewarded with Gold Plaque. After this success, the choir received new, more experienced members, and began to act as the Mixed Choir of Cultural and Artistic Association “Aspalathos”. Although new ensemble soon became well recognized and multiply awarded, it ceased to be a part of the school and thus of this historical review as well.
The choir continued its work under the name of “Marko Marulić” High School in the school year 2004/05. Since 2006 until now, the Choir has performe... Javascript:void(0);" onclick="$(this).getParent().getPrevious().style.display='';$(this).getParent().style.display='none';">less
