The World Youth choir session 2012 was held in Cyprus from August 7th to September 1st, 2012 thanks to the cooperation between the Foundation World Youth choir and the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra Foundation - Cyprus Youth Symphony Orchestra, supported by the Ministry of culture and education - Cyprus presidency of the European Union (cultural events in 2012). In the World choir Championships which was held in Graz, Austria between 10th-17th July 2011, Boğaziçi Jazz choir became the 'WORLD CHAMPION' in Contemporary Music and Folklore categories, and got the 'second prize' in Mixed choirs category. Also winning ...  moreIn the World choir Championships which was held in Graz, Austria between 10th-17th July 2011, Boğaziçi Jazz choir became the 'WORLD CHAMPION' in Contemporary Music and Folklore categories, and got the 'second prize' in Mixed choirs category. Also winning 2 more gold medals in 'Grand Prix of Choral Music' the champions competed in, the choir has come back to Turkey with a total of 5 gold medals. We would like to give special thanks to our main sponsor Finansbank, transportation sponsor Pegasus Airlines and everyone who has supported and given us the opportunity to take great pride in this success.
