Executing this Music with "sensitivity and style" (Early Music America), Schola Antiqua takes pride in providing the highest standards of research, performance, and education involving many under-served repertories in the western Musical canon. Founded in 2000, the organization has received invitations to perform from the Indianapolis Early Music Festival, Chicago’s Newberry Library, the Chicago Cultural Center, the University of Chicago, the University of Notre Dame, the American Guild of Organists, and numerous locations across the Midwest. In 2006-2007, Schola Antiqua was Ensemble-in-Residence at the University of Chicago and currents holds an artistic residency at the Lumen Christi Institute. The Choir comprises of students and graduates of a number of universities in the country. We believe in ministering in place of performances.

These dynamic and talented singer...  moreThe SYC was formed in 1998, as children's Choir singers grew and voices changed! This four part chorus (Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Bass) is devoted to Music of all styles, including Classical, Broadway and Contemporary tunes. These dynamic and talented singers range in age from 14-25, and include young women in gr.11 and higher, and young men with changed voices. The SYC annually participates in the Family Christmas Concert, and choreographed year end show. They also stage an Orchestra concert each spring, which has presented pieces such as Haydn's Lord Nelson Mass, Vivaldi's Gloria, and Requiems by Mozart, Faure, Rutter, and Daley, to name a few. This year, the SYC looks forward to singing Carl Orff's Carmina Burana. The Youth Chorus joined the senior and chamber Choirs in their 2009 tour to the UK. They were ecstatic to receive 8th place standing in the Mixed Voices category at a festival that boasts participants from over 50 different countries.
