MGC travelled widely in Europe and had a high standard. In 2003, we changed our name to Manx Voices. We love singing to community groups, in church services and concerts. We compete in our local music festivals and have sung on stage with Blake. We are a very democratic, mutually supportive group of women ranging in age from 10 to 70!

Wir essen und leben wohl (χορικό) Η καντάτα Christ lag in Todesbanden (Ο Χριστός κείται με τα δεσμά του θανάτου) είναι μια από τις πρώτες καντάτες του συνθέτη. Το λιμπρέτο της είναι ένας ύμνος του Λούθηρου. Κάθε ένα από τα επτά μέρη της καντάτας είναι και ένας στίχος του ύμνου, με τη μορφή variation. Ο Bach γράφει συμμετρικά: χορωδιακό – ντουέτο – σόλο – χορωδιακό – σόλο – ντουέτο – χορωδιακό. Στο κέντρο (4ος στίχος) είναι η μάχη ανάμεσα στη ζωή και στον θάνατο. Η πρεμιέρα της έγινε το 1707 στο Arnstadt.
