As you may observe, former Members of the Choir (those without the burgundy coates) are welcomed up to join the Choir in this finale song in each concert, as it has been for 37 years in a row! (And if they are observed by the conductor when arriving to the churc and choose NOT to join, they are very kindly told to do so! This caused a special occasion in this concert: a mother and a daughter singing in the same Choir! :-))
This year our guest conductor Inger Lise Hope, also a former member, took on the job at short notice because of illness. Indeed, she did a great job in three concerts! less

Lo, how a rose e'er blooming from tender stem hath sprung
of Jesse's lineage coming, as those of old have sung
It came, a floweret bright, amid the cold of winter
When half spent was the night
Isaiah twas foretold it, the rose I have in mind;
With Mary we behold it, the virgin mother kind.
To show God's love aright, she bore to us a savior
When half spent was the night.
This flower, whose fragrance tender with sweetness fills the air,
Dispels with glorious splendor, the darkness everywhere;
True man, yet very God, from sin and death he saves us,
And lightens every load.
Recorded at St Pio of Pietrelcina Roman Catholic Church, 103 Washington Ave, Lavallette, NJ 08735-2351

Performed by Salutaris Chamber Choir (http://salutaris.by) directed by Olga Yanum. Solo: Yuliya Shedzko. the original poem is written by Sara Teasdale and translated into Belarussian by Yuliya Shedzko. Sound: Viktor Kisten || Floating on the waves of Baltic Sea and miraculous music by one of our favorite composers, Ēriks Ešenvalds, we invite you to go back to childhood for a few minutes – only in sleep though.
We got an idea for this video while we were on tour in Latvia (composer's homeland), in a coastal city Liepāja. Only on the waves of our dreams can we return to the time of our childhood, only in sleep we can for a short time become little boys and girls again – they still live somewhere within us. Let's not forget about them!
Children of Salutaris' singers took part in this video – they are our future, as well as the future of our Choir.

He will proclaim freedom for all his children / and will keep you as the apple of his eye
Pleasant is your name and will not be destroyed / repose and rest on the Sabbath day
Seek my sanctuary and my home / give me a sign of deliverance
Plant a vine in my vineyard / look to my people, hear their laments
Tread the wine-press in Bozrah / and in Babylon that city of might
Crush my enemies in anger and fury / on the day when I cry, hear my voice
