The group pursues two main aims: on the one hand to revive old, nearly forgotten Carinthian folk songs, and on the other hand to enrich the Carinthian music scene by new songs and interpretations. The Oktet Suha has performed more than 1400 times in Austria and all over Europe, as well as in the USA, Australia, Ukraina, Argentina and Canada. They had lots of tv and radio appearances worldwide. Oktet Suha has released 12 CD ́s since and is the main organizer of the annual cross boarder vocal Festival Suha. Their highlights were the European Award for Folk and Art and the Silver award of the Slovenian Republik.  less

Six Male solists present the deep yet humorous side of vocal music. Their clarity in sound and expression, the abillity to let music speak for itself, sets them apart. Their individual artistic skills and personalities harmonize into a one of a kind ensemble! De Heeren consists of 8 men, most of whom study at the Fontys Conservatoire in Tilburg. What sets this group apart is that is has musical as well as classical trained singers. Due to this wide variety of musical diversity of this group it allows for a broad selection of repertoire. Their mission is to entertain, educate, unite and uplift their audiences and members through music that is distinguished for its innovation, diversity and artistic excellence. Their philanthropic mission is to provide funding and support for music education in our schools and the community. On September 10 of this year, Nashville Singers awarded their first Music Makes a Difference music education grant to John Overton High School. The singers are all volunteers, range in age from teenagers to retirees and travel from five different counties throughout Middle Tennessee to be a part of the chorus. Due tra le ipotesi più accreditate sulla formazione d...  moreCoro Polifonico Maschile Segossini è il nuovo nome che sostituisce Su Cuncordiu Sinniesu fondato a Sìnnai nel 1998. La denominazione attuale vuole essere un richiamo all’origine del toponimo Sìnnai. Due tra le ipotesi più accreditate sulla formazione del nome del paese farebbero infatti derivare Sìnnai dal fenicio sina (rovo, luogo pieno di sterpi) o dal latino medievale sinnum (segno di confine fra i salti di due villaggi). Tali ipotesi sarebbero confermate anche dal nome del secondo villaggio che diede origine al paese: Segossini, che significherebbe per l’appunto “subito dopo Sinnai”, in quanto unione o del termine latino secus o sardo segus (traducibili entrambi con subito dopo o dietro) con il nome sina o sinnum. Much of the music we sing is arranged in the barbershop style. Along with entertaining our local audience KCC competes in the Mid Atlantic District of the Barbershop Harmony Society and is a consistent champion in our Division. KCC also promotes quartet singing as well as a cappella singing among the youth in our region. Rehearsals are Tuesday evenings 7pm and are always open for visitors so feel free to visit to find out more and to see if our group is right for you.  less

This ensemble is offered every fall and spring semester, and satisfies the fine arts requirement when enrolled for a minimum of three semesters.
