We meet two Fridays per month from 7.30-9.30pm. For full details, FAQs, to hear us, or to join us go to www.londonclassicalChoir.com/. Every year we sing a major choral work with the London Classical Orchestra, in a Concert for the Homeless. We have also performed at Wembley Stadium and on a big Ryder Cup Europe social media campaign. The Choir is for those with some experience but we also welcome singers with good voices who are new to classical music but keen to learn. There are regular solo opportunities.  less

During the tenure...  moreThe ROYAL COLLEGE Choir, which traces its origins back to St. Paul’s Church, Wolvendhal where Royal College itself was formed in 1835 It was made part of the Western Music Society of Royal College with its formation in the year 1919. During the tenure of Principal Major Harry L. Reed the Choir won the prestigious R. Meaden Shield(Senior) for Singing for 10 successive years from 1920 to 1931, once with a perfect score of 200/200. The College Anthem ‘School of our Fathers’, composed by Principal Reed made its debut at this competition on the 13th day of July, 1928 and to this day takes responsibility of preserving the College Anthem. The Choir was trained by Mrs. Reed with the support of Robert C. Edwards, Esq. The Choir today continues to sing at many major events in and out of College, the most significant out of which being the Annual Carol Service. It is currently trained by the eminent Ms. Sureka Amerasinghe.  less

Karl Jenkins' popular vocal-instrumental work Adiemus belongs to a sort of symphonic music with a touch of ethnic music. To define Adiemus is the best way to denote it as a "new age" or "progressive" music. Adiemus is formed of a many different kinds of melodies, distinctive harmonies and minimalistic repetitions of musical themes, that Jenkins shaped into an expanded choral work.
