Undertakes to be a space for Youth have contact with Concert Choral music. The group sings a diverse and technically challenging repertoire, exploring different sounds and new musical languages. In his repertoire are works by composers as Janequin, Scarlatti, Bach, Beethoven, Whitacre, Widmer, Stroope, Jobim and Ronaldo Miranda. The styles range from classical to popular, jazz, spirituals, sacred music, Brazilian Popular Music, opera and musicals. Since its formation is conducted by Altamiro Bernardes and has Lana Bernardes as assistant conductor. They are also The c...  moreThe Birralee Blokes are The winners of The 2012 International Kathaumixw "Choir of The World" award and also The winners of The Youth Section in The same competition, held in Canada in July. They are also The current ABC Classic FM Choir of The Year. In addition to this They were judged Youth Choir of The Year and also received The Listeners' Choice Award. In 2008 They were part of The Channel 7 Battle of The Choirs TV show, making it as far as The quarter finals, where They met Their Waterloo with ABBA's song of The same name. Membership is drawn from state and independent secondary Schools and universities and There is a strong emphasis placed on inclusion for any young man who enjoys singing and expresses a desire to develop as a musician.
