"If only I were able,
I would sing the poplar rustling with silvery voice,
the sun of the Kurst in a cool September,
the buckwheat in the white sinkhole.
If only I were able, I would sing one, single girl;
I love her so much that I would change her
for anything in the world, anything."

This work reflects some of the history of Manchester as seen through the eyes of local poet Audrey Vaughan, including its origins around the river Irwell, the original monastery which became Manchester Cathedral, the industrial revolution, the Peterloo Massacre, and the singing of church and cathedral choirs up to the present day.
Music composed by David Warin Solomons
Conductor: Zoltán Pad
Tenor soloist: József Gál
Treble soloist: Csongor Gyulai
Organist: Zsolt Mészáros
Pianist: Dániel Dinyés
The boys' choir's conductor was Márton Tóth who taught the piece to the children.

Last July, over 100 BIG sing members flash mobbed the Maldon Tesco Store and the YouTube video has had over 16,000 views, raising money for Cancer Research UK. As well as community events, The BIG sing have hosted their own sold out sHows in Essex and have many more coming up this year!
As The BIG sing grows we are continuing to reach out to more people of all ages and backgrounds. We aim to unite people with uplifting music and have seen the choir members grow in confidence, experience the thrill of performing on stage, make new friends and belong to a new choir family. The BIG sing not only has several thriving community choirs but also advanced choirs (The BIG sing Pro), children's choirs (LITTLE sing), singing groups for babies and tots (TINY sing), school choirs, and corporate singing choirs. Christmas In a Minute Chopin/Biegel
piano music for choir? Why not! Written originally for solo vocalist, I turned this into an SATB choral tongue-twister--a cappella--and then added a piano part, which was further orchestrated for choirs performing with orchestra during the holiday season....
