Marryatville High School's Special Interest Music caters for selected gifted students and students with Musical potential. Choral music is an essential part of the Musical development of these students. the Concert Choir is an auditioned choir of about 40.

Open to beginners or those wishing to improve their technique with industry professionals from the UK. Over 12 weeks students will follow a curriculum tailored to helping each student develop at their own speed in All three areas of the artform. In Singing students will leave voice techniques, explore ensemble singing and perform a variety of repertoire. In acting students will learn how to develop character in scenes and songs, explore the physical journey of a character, improve stage presence and text analysis. In dance students will look at a variety of jazz techniques core to Musical theatre dance as well as perform several Musical theatre routines. It's of course a wink to my favorite Musical movie - I must have watched it at least a dozen times. It keeps inspiring my love for singing. We mostly sing Musical songs, but not exclusively. We are dedicated to making this a great amateur choir. But, as Mary Poppins sang: 'In every job that must be done / there is an element of fun / You find the fun / and SNAP the job's a game'
