Since the beginning of 2003 the choir's artistic director is Luka Vukšić. the director's assistant is Veton Marevci. the choir's performances have been conducted by Croatia's and world's most eminent musicians, such as Lovro von Matačić, Milan Horvat, Zubin Mehta, Sir Yehudi Menuhin, Krzysztof Penderecki, Lorin Maazel, Ennio Morricone, Noam Sheriff, Gerd Albrecht, Kazushi Ono, Alun Francis, Hans Graf, Kurt Masur, Dmitrij Kitajenko, Valerij Gergijev, and Sir Neville Marriner. the members of the choir, also referred to as 'Goranovci', have performed with many opera singers, the most prominent among them being Vladimir Ruždjak, Ruža Pospiš - Baldani, Ruggiero Raimondi, Jose Carreras, Andrea Bocelli, Inva Mula, and many others. However, the existence of a primary form of the Choir conducted by Agesilaos Papantoniou and then Ioannis Kottoros in succession is traced in 1930s. Since its foundation the Choir has had an exclusive and leading position in the parish ecclesiastical music, and, like Saint Alexander’s Church, follows the eastern orthodox doctrine and comes under the Holy Metropolis of Nea Smyrni. This children's chorus quickly became one of the most dynamic choruses in the city. the Kinderchor, which means "children's chorus" and the Jugendchor, which means "youth chorus", attribute their success to the dedication to the children. Membership is open to all children regardless of nationality, recognizing the shared German heritage so prevalent to Central Ohio. While our focus remains the children and the children's choral music, gatherings and trips are planned to include the entire family.
