This children's chorus quickly became one of the most dynamic choruses in the city. The Kinderchor, which means &quOt;children's chorus&quOt; and the Jugendchor, which means &quOt;youth chorus&quOt;, attribute their success to the dedication to the children. Membership is open to all children regardless of nationality, recognizing the shared German heritage so prevalent to Central Ohio. While our focus remains the children and the children's choral music, gatherings and trips are planned to include the entire family. Concert group counts about 60 people, mainly students, academic teachers and friends outside college. Our repertoire has about 80 a capella works (From medieval to contemporary composers), large sacred forms by Haendel, Mozart and Mendellsohn Bartholdy and 40 carols. We have performed at several festivals and international events (Germany, France, Switzerland, Bulgaria). Open to anyone (age 8+ to adult) with a love of musical theatre, the group works on excelling in musical theatre singing, good vocal techniques and harmony work. We also work on theatrical expression and performance skills, and there are plenty of opportunities for solo and small group singing if desired.
