Following in the footsteps of such distinguished predecessors as the world famous Le Mystere de Voix Bulgares, who won a Grammy award in 1989 and brought Bulgarian folk to world-wide audiences, we are committed to preserving and celebrating this unique style of singing.
We are named after a mystery ourselves - Veda Slovena, The Vedas of the Slavs, was a compilation of folk songs from Thrace and Macedonia published in 19 c., which is still considered a mystification.
With an international cast of singers we are a living proof that true musical beauty and wisdom know no borders - neither national nor spiritual.

Under its dynamic and energetic conductor, Ian Allan, the Choir gives two regular concerts, usually at Christmas and in the Summer, and also takes part in the Mary Wakefield Festival in Kendal. In addition, rehearsals are taken by the deputy conductor, Tracie Penwarden, who is not only one of the region's leading sopranos but a superb Choir trainer to boot. With the addition of David Edmonds as their accompanist, Arnside Choral Society benefits from the expertise of three professionals, each with different specialisms.
Rehearsals take place at Arnside's WI Hall in Orchard Road on Tuesdays at 7.30 and we offer a very warm welcome to anybody wishing to join us in singing a variety of styles. Op 23 december om 19u in de Sint-Jan-Baptistkerk van Binkom brengt vocale groep Vocalix “Cold Hands, Warm Hearts”, een winterconcert met hartverwarmende liederen, bekende en minder bekende kerstnummers maar ook andere sfeerliederen passend bij de donkere ... moreOp 23 december om 19u in de Sint-Jan-Baptistkerk van Binkom brengt vocale groep Vocalix “Cold Hands, Warm Hearts”, een winterconcert met hartverwarmende liederen, bekende en minder bekende kerstnummers maar ook andere sfeerliederen passend bij de donkere winterrmaanden.
Vocalix is geen popkoor maar een kleine vocale groep waarin elke stem zich zowel mengt als haar eigen partij draagt. De nadruk wordt gelegd op het brengen van kwaliteitsvolle concerten, waarbij de zangers het tempo, de tonaliteit, de dynamiek en samenzang perfect beheersen.

De inkom bedraagt € 10,- Na het concert wordt u in de kerk een gratis drankje en wat versnaperingen aangeboden om gezellig na te praten.
