The soloists are Anne McCambridge and Margaret Mann. Inclusive is the word which probably best describes Open Arts Community Choir. It features people with disabilites and those without, from every section of the Community in Northern Ireland. The age range is extensive, from seventeen to over seventy but most importantly members are united by their love of singing. Last July, over 100 BIG Sing members flash mobbed the Maldon Tesco Store and the YouTube video has had over 16,000 views, raising money for Cancer Research UK. As well as Community events, The BIG Sing have hosted their own sold out shows in Essex and have many more coming up this year! As The BIG Sing grows we are continuing to reach out to more people of all ages and backgrounds. We aim to unite people with uplifting music and have seen the choir members grow in confidence, experience the thrill of performing on stage, make new friends and belong to a new choir family. We are dedicated to quality performances, music education, and Community service. As the resident choral ensemble of the Sandler Center for the Performing Arts, we perform a varied repertoire from classics to Broadway and rock to jazz in two main concerts, one during the Christmas season and one in the spring, with additional benefit and collaborative performances throughout the year. Scheduled auditions for new members are held in August and January of each year.
