Mister Sandman (choral arrangement)
The 50s song Mister Sandman by Pat Ballard, which I arranged, on request, for our local Choir. After a few concerts, I thought it would also be fun to sing it all myself (multitracking), so here it is.
I have now published the score; see below

These are strange, hard times: we must #stayathome for our own health, to protect other people and to fight a virus called Covid-19.
But Music doesn't stop and the Vox Canora singers, even though physically distant, want to try to "Fix You" with this video where you'll find the typical Vox Canora moments of irony.
We are longing for the day we will meet, hug and sing together but for the moment we must #STAYHOME
Director: Monica Lodesani
Audio and video processing: Marzio Morini
Arrangement: Lorenzo Subrizi

St Stephen’s has a strong musical tradition with two choral services each Sunday throughout the year (except August when the Choir has a well deserved break – but usually sing elsewhere for a number of days). Music is sung from across the centuries, ranging from plainsong dating back hundreds of years right through to contemporary works by composers such as John Tavener and Arvo Pärt, including works written especially for us. less

a poem by William Ernest Henley
Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.
In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.
Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds and shall find me unafraid.
It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate,
I am the captain of my soul. less
