We are sad that we are currently unable to stage live concerts and engage professional musicians to play with us. These musicians, who are largely self-employed, have been especially hard hit by the Covid-19 restrictions. For our next Virtual concert in the Spring we hope to employ some and we are seeking donations to help make that happen. In addition, 50% of your donations will be passed directly to Help Musicians Scotland, a charity providing help, support and opportunities to empower musicians at all stages of their lives. The main character – Fauvel – is an incarnation of sin, irrationality, unreliability, dominance, flattery. Fortuna Won’t Be Fauvel’s Match! mocks human egotism, hedonism, hypocrisy and excesses of the governing classes, of secular as well as church rule, a society contaminated by sin and corruption. The ruling class is despotic and greedy, forgetting about the natural equality of people.
