Using the simple view that a good song is a good song, has meant that they bring together a collection of pieces that appeal to a wide audience. The Choir delights in introducing new songs that are connected by their unique choral sound, rather than from a particular genre and it is this wide appeal and their sense of fun that has meant the group is in constant demand and continually attracts new members. Even in its early days the Choir never quite conformed to the accepted norms of what should be included in their repertoire. However, this in no way hindered its appeal and it went on to win a number and prestigious competitions including one of the largest Eisteddfods for male Choirs in Wales, an award for services to the arts from Chelmsford City Council and passed the advanced choral singing examination of The Associated Board of the Royal College of Music Successive musical directors contributed the Choir`s ...    less

Paul Rudoi, winner of MCA's 2011 "Young Composer's Composition Competition" and member of Cantus (also based in Minneapolis), has written a special composition for the combined ensembles that will be premiered in Milwaukee, then repeated in two performances when MCA travels to Minneapolis to perform with the National Lutheran Choir on their All Saints' programs November 3 and 4, 2012. Our home is in heaven, this is a promise, So say yes to salvation." Part of the winter Singing Safari concert, Ipswich 2013. From the singing of the Soweto Gospel Choir, arranged by Chris Rowbury. This concert was the culmination of a six-week project which creates a Choir from scratch for one night only. Each winter and summer, Chris Rowbury gathers a random bunch of singers from in and around Ipswich. There are no auditions and all songs are taught and learnt by ear.
