They have been auditioned and selected from a program of 250 singers and identified as the cream of the crop based on their beauty of vocal tone, Musical intelligence, sight reading ability and academic achievement. They are also instrumentalists, actors, athletes, student leaders and ambassadors of LSHS. Most importantly, they are students who are DEDICATED to being the best they can be. As a result of these high standards, Sounds of Summit has developed a reputation in Lee’s Summit and around the nation as one of the elite high School level performing ensembles. We are frequently asked to perform with UMKC’s Conservatory, as well as multiple appearances at the Missouri Music Educators Convention. We are also in high demand with community groups for performances around Christmas time. As with all our ensembles, Kikimasu provides a secure and accepting social environment where all singers feel their importance as members of the group. The choir was founded by Marcus Lee, with a vision of promoting and cultivating interest and appreciation for choral literature within Singapore. The choir is dedicated to artistic excellence, and endeavors to explore and analyze choral literature to achieve this goal.

They are also the c...  moreThe Birralee Blokes are the winners of the 2012 International Kathaumixw "choir of the World" award and also the winners of the Youth Section in the same competition, held in Canada in July. They are also the current ABC Classic FM choir of the Year. In addition to this they were judged Youth choir of the Year and also received the Listeners' Choice Award. In 2008 they were part of the Channel 7 Battle of the choirs TV show, making it as far as the quarter finals, where they met their Waterloo with ABBA's song of the same name. Membership is drawn from state and independent secondary Schools and universities and there is a strong emphasis placed on inclusion for any young man who enjoys singing and expresses a desire to develop as a Musician.
