The ... moreThe West Australian Nightingale Chorale, is a non-auditioned choir. The chorale had an humble beginning in 1992 under a very different name and with a smaller group of choristers in the City of Gosnells, it is now based in Bunbury Western Australia. The current choristers come from country centres such Wickepin, Cuballing, Narrogin, Donnybrook, Harvey, Perth and of course Bunbury. The Chorale travels extensively and is always in demand interstate and overseas.
The Nightingale's rehearsals takes place the first three Fridays of each month from 6.10 pm to 8.10 pm, and the 4th Sunday of every month from 9.30 am to 3.30 pm. The rehearsal venue is at the Walker Hall,Bunbury. Meeting times will be changed as from 10th February 2012 and will be advertised well in advance less

Since 2009 and thanks to his founder, Oscar Allen, the Choral Project has been working with young singers and developing young voices to excell in the interpretation and enjoyment of choral music and group singing.
Due to an intensive and hard work, its members receive a full choral and scenic education, structured in the Vocal individual technique and its different types of sound emission; on the development of corporal skills expression, and in the grupal practice of the choral exercise.
This education is complemented by the permanent contact with other artistic disciplines as ballet and theatre are.
Even though the repertoire performed is diverse and heterogeneous, its preferences are focused on the amazing generation of current Spanish composers and the beautiful treatment given by them to the voice.

Their stylish performances, featuring early Medieval plainchant right through to commissions of West Australian composers, have been delighting audiences and critics alike since 1995.
The Consort prides itself on unearthing lesser-known early music (such as music of De Brossard, Certon, and Clereau), showcasing larger-scale choral masterpieces (Monteverdi's 1610 Vespers, various Bach Cantatas), and presenting High-quality interpretations of well-known classics (Pergolesi's Stabat Mater, Durufle's Requiem, Britten's Hymn to St. Cecilia, Allegri's Miserere and Tavener's Song for Athene).
