We are a mixed choir, putting on 3 concerts per year; a Spring concert with a wide...  moreFormed following the Newport National Eisteddfod (Welsh cultural festival) in 1988, Newport Philharmonic Choir has gone from strength to strength over the past 25 years. We are a mixed choir, putting on 3 concerts per year; a Spring concert with a wide and varied mixture of music, an orchestral concert in the Autumn, and a charity Christmas concert. We can also be seen throughout the year taking part in various community events; singing at the local Christmas grotto, taking part in flash mobs and singing at weddings and funerals.  less

Our program has grown to 3 vocal jazz Ensembles. The music we perform represents a crossover of the jazz and popular music idioms. The students in the KCKCC VJ program learn Jazz Education through a variety of methods. First of all, each of these students take private vocal jazz coachings weekly. They also perform music by professional vocal Ensembles, arrangements by well-known vocal jazz educators, and learn jazz and popular music standards (both through the Ensemble and in private coachings).  less
