Les Chantres Musiciens’ repertoire is both varied and complex, comprising a range of works from the Romantic period (including Mendelssohn, Schubert, Schumann, and Brahms) to Post-Romantic and modern compositions (including, for example, Schafer, Reger, Schönberg, and Langlais). The ensemble has earned a reputation for excellence, confirmed by prizes at national and international competitions, tours, and several distinguished recordings. Their first tour brought them through Germany and France, garnering critical and public acclaim, particularly at the Festival de Musique de Moselle. In 2007, the Choir participated in the International Men’s Voice Festival in Pleyben. During a tour in 2008, Les Chantres Musiciens performed for audiences aboard a cruise ship on the Saint Lawrence River and around the Magdalen Islands. In... less

My English version here is a singing translation, so feel free to sing along in English :-)
Guillaume prends ton tambourin
Toi, prends ta flûte, Robin;
Au son de ces instruments
"Turelurelu, patapatapan"
Au son de ces instruments
Je dirai Noel gaîment.
Willie take your little drum
With your flute oh Robin come
With the sound of flute and drum
tootle tootle toot, bing a bang a boom
with the flute and with the drum
I will say Nowell with joy.
C'était la mode autrefois
De louer le Roi des rois
Au son de ces instruments
"Turelurelu, patapatapan"
Au son de ces instruments
Il nous en faut faire autant.
In the goodly olden days
The king of kings we'd praise
with the drum and with the flute
tootle tootle toot, bing a bang a boom,
with the flute and with the drum
we should do alike just so less

I'm actually already away for the summer so I've had to work on this in my spare time and I didn't have much time to record (which will probably show in editing, cut offs, and overall lack of togetherness of the consonants). If it looks like I'm tired that's because I was, I recorded this at 6 in the morning
I have been in contact with Darmon Meader (the arranger of this piece) and he informed me that there are actually 2 typos in the sheet music that had been published, so I think that it's pretty cool that I'll be singing the correct notes (unlike most of the times that this piece is performed)
Thanks for watching and please comment, subscribe, like, and share with your friends.
