St George’s RC Church Sudburyofollow">http://stgeorgessudbury.org.uk/ is a Roman Catholic church in the Diocese of Westminsterofollow">http://www.rcdow.org.uk/ it was consecrated in 1928 and modelled on a pre-reformation English Church. By 1933 there was a regular Sung Mass every Sunday with organ. The singers (all Male) were professionals hired by the Parish Priest. Within a short time there were sufficient men available for a Choir trained by Frank Adams and they sang at Mass and on Sunday evenings at Vespers and Benediction. Vi arbeider med et variert repertoar med stor spennvidde. Det dekker alt frå religiøs musikk til drikkeviser. Gammal og ny musikk, shanty, jazz - inspirert, negro spirituals og elles dei tradisjonelle mannskorverka. Mange forbinder mannskor med 17. mai og gamle tradisjonelle sanger. Os Mannskor stiller villig opp 17. mai med nasjonale musikkskatter, men det er likevel bare en liten del av et frodig bilde. Vi er ikke opptatt av båser når det gjelder musikk. The words are my own and tell of children playing in the dusty streets (ie of Bethlehem) unaware that a miracle has happened and asking them to look up to where the angels are singing.
