The group works mostly acapella but has also performed in other styles, such as big band. The group's repertoire ranges from Israeli folk to American Jazz and British pop. The emphasis always being on tight harmony, even balance and a clear unit sound. The Yakinton Octet is truly a singer's group, consisting of eight friends who work as a democratic group with no professional conductor.

Ha desarrollado, por tanto, una importante y extensa labor artística a lo largo de más de veinte años. Sus componentes, entre otras actividades de su amplio currículum musical, cuentan con la pertenencia al Coro Filarmónico de Europa, formación integrada por coralistas de todos los países de la Comunidad Europea. El grupo ha obtenido -desde el momento mismo de su creación- galardones en distintos certámenes: Primer Premio del Concurso de Villancicos de Hermandades del Trabajo (1990), Primer Premio de los Certámenes de Participación Ciudadana del Ayuntamiento de Madrid (1992), Primer Premio del Concurso para Artistas Noveles Pasa la Vida de RTVE (1994) y Primer Premio en el XXVI Concurso de Villancicos de Colmenar de Oreja (2012). Primarily a for-hire performance ensemble, this group offers its members the chance to develop their skills at a professional level. Many alumni continue on to pursue careers in music performance. This is the flagship ensemble of Canada's National Arts Network, ArtsConnex.

Its first members were students of the Club's Music School and many of them participated in the Youth Choir of the city of Heraklion, under ...  moreTHALITAS Vocal ensemble was first created in 1996 as an activity of the “APOLLON” Music Club by Giorgos Kaloutsis. Its first members were students of the Club's Music School and many of them participated in the Youth Choir of the city of Heraklion, under the direction of Mrs. Katerina Tzagkaraki. The name of the ensemble originates from Thalitas, an ancient cretan composer and legislator, after whom a street in Heraklion is named; in this street the first rehearsals of the ensemble took place. The ensemble's primary goal was to acquaint its members with the a cappella (“in the chapel”, without church organ accompaniment) Vocal music of the renaissance period. THALITAS began by studying and performing works of renowned composers of that era (e.g. Josquin des Prez, G. P. da Palestrina, Orlando di Lasso) to assist the learning process of its members' musical studies.
