The group is made up of twenty-somethings (mostly!) who are young professionals Living in London. Founded by singers and beatboxers from The likes of The International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella, Last Choir Standing and Britain's Got Talent favourites Out of The Blue, The group’s repertoire spans from Billy Joel to The Black Eyed Peas, via pop, jazz, barbershop, rap and original composition as They offer a programme of sumptuous jazz arrangements, genre jumping covers and assorted originals. Following a successful run at The Edinburgh Fringe, The Refrains enjoyed a sold-out London debut at The Forge, Camden. Recent gigs have included The London A Cappella Festival, Edinburgh International Book Festival, Silver Bullet and private events. In 2012 amongst oThers gigs, The group look forward to performing at Spitalfields Summer Music Festival & Kings Place Festival.

The school choir itself has, over The Years, gone from strength to strength despite The need for constant renewal caused by The inevitable “turnover” as new students took The places of those who left. However, after this experience, which has included many concerts in The region, participations in Choir Festivals in Italy and artistic exchanges with youth choirs from Germany, Hungary, Spain, Denmark and The Czech Republic, our desire to continue singing and, of course, The joy which singing togeTher gave us all made it obvious that The time had clearly come to establish a group which could allow us to continue our musical journey togeTher.
Thus, once formed, The joy of singing togeTher stimulated our vocal group to initiate a musical journey of exploration of study which, we hope, will lead us on to ever more emotional musical experiences while, of cou... less
