With a membership of 65-70 musicians from throughout the campus, this ensemble is quickly becoming recognized for its musical excellence. Recent concerts have included Johann Sebastian Bach’s Lobet den Herrn, alle Heiden, Samuel Barber’s Reincarnations and Benjamin Britten’s Rejoice in the Lamb. Strong sight-reading skills and musicianship are important to membership. This ensemble is directed by Dr. Jonathan Babcock, associate director of choral activities. Odes of Love is a piece about what matters most: life itselF. Santiago Veros is now creating a national initiative for this work. One Choir in each U.S. State will receive the Exclusive State Premiere Rights for Odes of Love. The idea is simple: one Choir, one State, one local premiere. This initiative brings together strong Choirs from across the country and gives each director a meaningful way to share this music with their own community.  less
