This 30-strong male choir aspires to the celebrated male choral tradition and delights in exploring its infinite artistic depth. Under the leadership of Meng-Hsien Peng as conductor and artistic director since 2013, the choir has achieved prestige as one of the country’s foremost choral groups. Throughout its seventeen years of existence, the Müller Chamber Choir has time and time again participated in interNational choral events to expand its artistic vision. In 2007, led by maestro Julian Ching-Chun Su, the choir participated in the 23rd Takarazuka InterNational Chamber Chorus Contest in Japan and took home a gold medal in the Folklore category and a silver medal in the Romantic category, placing second in the overall ranking. As the premiere chorale ensemble at OSU, the OSU Chamber Choir, under the direction of Dr. Steven Zielke, has garnered National attention and interNational awards. While touring Eastern Europe in 2001, the choir received the Grand Prize at the Festival of Light in Bulgaria, and in April 2006, the Chamber Choir was selected as the only collegiate mixed choir from outside of the state of Utah to perform at the 60th Music Educators National Biennial Conference in Salt Lake City. The choir has performed in many exciting venues, including a performance of Beethoven's Ninth Symphony in Smetana Hall in Prague and at Strathov Monastery in Prague Castle, the first choir allowed to perform in the monastery in decades. Under the direction of Lisa Wong, the choir has been praised for its beauty of sound, high level of artistry, and engaging performances. The Wooster Chorus presents several concerts both on and off-campus throughout the academic year, and embarks each spring on a week-long domestic tour. Membership is by audition. Recent collaborative performances have included Beethoven's Symphony No. 9 in D Minor with the Cleveland Orchestra and Cleveland Orchestra Chorus.  less

This ensemble is offered every fall and spring semester, and satisfies the fine arts requirement when enrolled for a minimum of three semesters.
