It is composed and directed by youths who though come from various sectors in society share the same passion….love for music. They venture into old and contemporary music, going through each piece in bits and pieces, in its history, in its interpretation, in its message! Their dedication and constant development, thanks to their musical direct or Marouska Attard, has helped them establish as one of the most renowned choirs in Malta. In fact, on ‘The Guardian’ of November 16th, 2010, one of their major productions was listed with the top ten events in Europe, alongside internationally renowned producers and productions. Schola Cantorum Jubilate specialises in the sacred polyphony though on looking at its curriculum vitæ, one finds the choir’s participation in various concerts, operas and tours concerned with secular music. From this clip one can admire the Schola Cantorum Jubilate of Malta performing the most famous movement of Handel's oratorio's - Hallelujah chorus, during Carols by Candlelight 2009. The choir and chamber orchestra was under the baton of Marouska Attard.

When school was over, it seemed natural to carry on singing together as a choi...  moreOur beginnings lie at Kingsbury High School in Brent. The school's choir became very successful in the mid-1980s, winning many competitions including the Llangollen Eisteddfod. When school was over, it seemed natural to carry on singing together as a choir, and the group's achievements included reaching the semi-finals of Sainsbury's Choir of the Year and appearing on Opportunity Knocks. In the 1990's, the choir moved to Harrow and officially became known as Jubilate. Sarah Stroh took over as Musical Director in 1999 and since then the choir has grown significantly, doubling in size to its current membership of 43. There are still some original members of the choir, who have been singing together for more than 25 years. Our recent competition successes include winning the Barnardo's National Choir competition in March 2013 and the ladies choir, folk and popular music classes and runner-up with distinction in the sacred music class in the 2012 Mid-Somerset Festival.
