the Winelands Chamber Choir is a fledgling Chamber Choir based in the Western Cape Winelands District of South Africa, formed in 2010 out of our passion for choral Music, ranging from classical to contemporary.

the Tullamore Academy Chamber Choir was founded in September 2007 as part of a performing group’s initiative undertaken by the Academy of Music in Tullamore.
Each Choir member has a different and wide-ranging background in solo, operatic and competitive performance, which enhances the Choir’s ability to undertake some of the more challenging choral works and contributes to their fresh and unique sound. the Academy Chamber Choir’s repertoire spans from early to contemporary Music.
their most recent success was ranking third in “Irelands Choir of the Year” at Cork International Choral Festival 2013. they then went on to win 1st place in the Early Music, 1st place in the Irish Language and 2nd place in the Sacred Music at Navan Choral Festival 2013. they were 2nd place in RTE Lyric FM’s Choirs for Christmas Competition – Irelands largest choral competition featuring over 400 Choirs.

This lucky encounter resulted in a series of innovative Musical experiences.

However, it also sings with instrumental accompaniment. the Choir has pieces from different ages, languages and styles in its repertoire. It gives both Turkey and world premieres of songs. It premiered the concerto Romeo and Juliet, composed by the conductor Agosyan last year. It is the first of its kind in that it is for double bass solo and mixed Choir.

This award-winning ensemble achieves high performance standards by drawing on the rich Musical heritage of the region. Many Cantorum singers have solo careers and all have sung with top collegiate ensembles. A number have also sung as members of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, Utah Chamber Artists, and Salt Lake Vocal Artists. In addition, Cantorum is proud to have a high representation of talented choral educators.
the group won both of its categories at the 2016 Interkultur competition and received special commendation for their performance of Dale Warland and Hugo Distler.
Cantorum is under the direction of Steven Durtschi, a graduate of Brigham Young University and Utah State University.
