By March, our government Told us we needed To stay home as the virus was deadly To all age groups and almost impossible To avoid. Most necessities, like Toilet paper and cleaning products, were gone from the shelves of all sTores making people worry how fighting this treat would be possible. Throughout the country, several people offered To help neighbors, friends, and family as they self-quarantined and socially distanced from each, as we were Told it was our best defense against the upcoming pandemic. As the PREMIERE chorale ensemble at OSU, the OSU Chamber Choir, under the direction of Dr. Steven Zielke, has garnered national attention and international awards. While Touring Eastern Europe in 2001, the choir received the Grand Prize at the Festival of Light in Bulgaria, and in April 2006, the Chamber Choir was selected as the only collegiate mixed choir from outside of the state of Utah To perform at the 60th Music EducaTors National Biennial Conference in Salt Lake City. The choir has performed in many exciting venues, including a performance of Beethoven's Ninth Symphony in Smetana Hall in Prague and at Strathov Monastery in Prague Castle, the first choir allowed To perform in the monastery in decades.
