While the majority of the singers are undergraduate music majors, membership is open to all students at the university through an audition process. The group has achieved an impressive reputation of excellence, having been chosen each of the last twenty years to perform at conventions or festivals around the country: the Pennsylvania Music Educators State Conference; the Eastern Division Music Educators National Conference; the Music Educators National Convention; the American Choral Directors Association Pennsylvania State Conference, and the ACDA Eastern Division Convention. The choir is renowned on the international stage as well, representing the US at competitions and festivals around the world. We enjoy sharing our love of singing in 4 part harmony with performances throughout the southern New Jersey area. We also attend and compete in the Sweet Adelines Region 19 convention annually. The objective was to bring about musical performances (of choral works by foreign and Nigerian composers) of sufficiently high standard for international consumption, within the limitations of national resources. The CHORALE which has grown in size to over 100 singers has given numerous concerts in Lagos and other towns in Nigeria, including Aba, Abakaliki, Abeokuta, Abuja, Benin, Calabar, Eket, Enugu, Ibadan, Ife, Nsit Atai, Oko, Owerri, Port Harcourt, Umuahia and Uyo. It has performed many times on Radio and Television and has featured on many State, National and International functions. It was the nucleus of the Nigerian National Choir for FESTAC 77. We aim to establish a strong group of singers who rehearse and perform regularly, predominantly a cappella choral works but sometimes with instruments and including some solo/small ensemble repertoire. We will be commissioning new works as well as exploring established repertoire and pieces by CoMA composers and associates. The group will reinforce as well as supplement the established CoMA Voices programme. Singers are expected to be confident singers with some sight reading experience, be prepared to tackle unusual Vocal techniques and unconventional pieces. In a short time came to count 42 active members who are characterized by their love for quality choral music as well as their desire for further knowledge in the choral art! Within the first year of its operation, InDONNAtion accoplished first Panhellenic executions and suggested a different and original approach to choral music, as its repertoire includes beyond the classics and unique compositions that combine movement with sound. Finally, it is worth mentioning that the choir's name is a pun of the musical term Intonation (tonality of the sound) and the latin word Donna (woman).  less
