We are directed by the dynamic Scott Inglis-Kidger, a music graduate from Cambridge University and previously a countertenor in the renowned King’s College Choir. Scott selects a fabulous range of music for us to work on and we are incredibly lucky to be supported by a professional orchestra and top professional soloists. All of this, combined with the commitment and enthusiasm of our members, makes for performances which are thrilling for the audience and exhilerating for the Singers. We still retain a sense of joy of singing and of friendship and celebrate all our concerts with parties at our local Battersea pub. We do not hold auditions so if you would like to come and join us you are very welcome at any time to try a rehearsal or two and then decide if you would like to join. Our repertoire embraces a cappella music, from renaissance to contemporary, as well as choral works with keyboard and orchestral accompaniment. 2012 concerts range fom JS Bach St John Passion, with orchestra, to a programme of Scottish music (Carver to MacMillan) via Horrotorio!

Founded in September 2000 by a group of friends from the National Youth Choir of Great Britain, the choir comprises mainly of recent graduates and current students of Durham University, but also welcomes Singers from all over the North East, and includes ...  moreFounded in September 2000 by a group of friends from the National Youth Choir of Great Britain, the choir comprises mainly of recent graduates and current students of Durham University, but also welcomes Singers from all over the North East, and includes many of the region’s teachers. In May, the choir travelled to Italy to take part in the “Venezia in Musica” International Choral Competition. They won first prize in the secular music category, came runners up in the sacred music category, and received the “Outstanding Performance” prize for Bogorditsye Dyevo by Rachmaninov. They have been awarded “Choir of the Day” at all five BBC Radio 3 Choir of the Year regional rounds they have entered, and in 2008 reached the adult category finals in the Royal Philharmonic Hall in Liverpool, alongside the six other best adult choirs in the country.
