Performing all genres of music on their home stage at Frederick Community College, CASF is known for bringing a dynamic and invigorating Concert set to every season. Sharing a passion for music in the community is a mainstay for the Choir and its Artistic Director Lynn Staininger, who strategically partners with local and regional artists to bring a variety of instrumental support to complement the nonprofit’s harmonious sounds.  less

Recorded May of 2010 in the CWU music building Concert Hall. "Carpenters of God" was written specifically for the Chamber Choir's appearance at the 2010 NWACDA Conference. The composer talks about the inspiration for the piece (Weston Noble's visit to CWU in 2009) for the first 65 seconds. The piece is sung beginning at 1:05 in the video. The Choir has also recorded YouTube videos that feature music of Claudio Monteverdi, Ola Gjeilo, John Muehleisen, Einojuhani Rautavaara, and Tomás Luis da Victoria. Monteverdi's Sestina can be found on the following two videos: (pieces 1-3 & 4-6): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-5_qClRojFw http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G786-GV1NT8 Follow the Choir on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/CWU.Chamber.Choir  less

This group is made up of 10 singers and performers all under the age of 25, giving VanDeca a youthful and fresh take on every genre, from classical to pop, musical theatre to jazz, and everything in between! Each singer in VanDeca comes from a different musical background, shaping who we are as a group. Having only been in existence since November of 2011, this group has big plans to shape the face of choral music in Vancouver, encouraging our audience to feel connected with our performances through multi-genre pieces, and using movement and amazing sound to inspire others to become involved with their local choral groups.  less
