The award winning “Funky Voices” was founded and launched in 2007 to meet the Community who sought a choir that sing modern music that can be enjoyed by everyone, NO AUDITION and NO EXPERIENCE NEEDED. Each Funky Voices rehearsal is taught by highly qualified and experienced music tutors. Sandra Colston BA Hons (Musical Director) arranges the music to suit the choir members, and to bring the music up to date and possible for a choir to sing.
The Sound
With passions for vocal harmonies, and personal influences being likes of; Stevie Wonder, Earth Wind and Fire, Luther Vandross, Brian McKnight, Michael Jackson. The aim is to bring a similar vocal energy to Funky Voices… From Emotional rich harmonies to Feel-good dance tracks, our repertoire includes, including “Take That”, “Michael Jackson”, “Queen”, “Supertramp”, making it an exciting and enjoyable experience for everyone.

services to the Community when the need arises, to provide a musical hom... moreTswelopele Chorus was established in July 2015. Siyabonga Dlamini and Sibusiso Sithole,
with the primary objective (/s) of rehearsing and performing choral music, providing musical
services to the Community when the need arises, to provide a musical home for all interested in
the greater Pretoria and Johannesburg area and to promote the standard of choral music.
Secondarily Tswelopele aims to educate its members in the singing of all types of choral music,
arrange concerts for the general public to attend, perform choral works with other Choirs and
participate in various competitions and music festivals in the Community. The choir currently
consists of 48 choristers. The choir being fairly young went to its first (TCMA) competition on
October 18th 2015, winning first place in the development section. The choir has since went on to
perform at Computeshare and Standard Bank respectively. Tswelopele Chorus attended its first GACMA
competition on May 29th 2016 and placed 6TH in the standard category.
