Die Ewigkeit der Welt liegt hier in meiner Hand
Die schweren Schmerzen, Erlösung und Liebe sind ein Seufzer in meiner Hand
Christus mein! Herr der Ewigkeit in meiner Hand
tröstlich und klein in meiner Hand
Weiss und vertrauensvoll hier in meiner Hand
Bescheidenheit der Liebe leigt zärtlich hier.

The world's eternity lies here within my hand.
The weight of pain, of love, redemption is a sigh upon my hand,

Moses Hogan was an internationally renowned pianist, composer and arranger of choral music best known for his arrangements of spirituals. He studied with a full scholarship at Oberlin Conservatory of Music before continuing with his graduate studies at Julliard School of Music. He won several piano competitions during his performance years and published many CD's as well as songbooks. 'Hold On!' is an example of his 'soloist vs choir' style of spiritual arrangements. There is a solo throughout that sings the primary lyrics and message of the song while the rest of the choir provides a lively and energetic - often rhythmic - accompaniment.
