Its aim is to provide opportunities for Young singers at the early stages of performing careers, as well as for talented musicians who have chosen not to pursue careers in the music, but wish to continue singing to a high standard. They currently comprise singers from many established choirs, including Birmingham Conservatoire Chamber Choir, Ex Cathedra, Armonico Consort, The Choir of Royal Holloway, Genesis Sixteen, Portsmouth Cathedral and York Minster. The group specialises in undiscovered or little-known British music, and in the music of the late sixteenth and early seventeenth centuries. Working with its Guest Conductor, Neil Ferris, Convivium Singers have recorded two discs of contemporary choral music by Jonathan Dove (NAXOS – due March 2012) and Hugh Benham (Convivium Records – due November 2011). Goal of ...  moreThe Youth Choir Melissanthi was founded as the Children’s Choir of Alexandria Municipality in 1987 aiming to the creation of a youth musical cradle in the town and so far has become a major attraction for children and Young people of the city. Goal of the choir is equally the choral and music development of its members and the contribution to the cultural development of Alexandria and the surrounding area. Although it started as a small ensemble singing monophonic or at best diphone melodies without instrumental accompaniment, today has more than 80 choristers, mostly girls, 10-25 years old, and interprets as a triphonic choir almost all kinds of music, with an emphasis on the music of the nations and Greek composers. The choir, which began at Brigham Young University as an early music ensemble, transformed into one of the premier non-collegiate chamber groups in the Western United States. This award-winning ensemble achieves high performance standards by drawing on the rich musical heritage of the region. Many Cantorum singers have solo careers and all have sung with top collegiate ensembles. A number have also sung as members of The Mormon Tabernacle Choir, Utah Chamber Artists, and Salt Lake Vocal Artists. In addition, Cantorum is proud to have a high representation of talented choral educators. The group won both of its categories at the 2016 Interkultur competition and received special commendation for their performance of Dale Warland and Hugo Distler. Directe...  moreBlossom Street is a highly versatile and vibrant chamber choir comprising some of the UK’s best Young singers which performs regularly on TV and radio as well as on the concert platform, and has released two critically acclaimed CDs with Naxos. Directed by Hilary Campbell, a graduate of the Royal Academy of Music, the group was formed a decade ago, while the singers were studying at the University of York, and relocated to London in 2007. In York, Blossom Street filmed a medley of Christmas carols for BBC2, which was broadcast during the snooker final in 2005, and since then has performed nationwide and beyond. They sang to Prince Charles on ITV1 as part of his 60th birthday celebrations, and gave their debut in Queen Elizabeth Hall as part of the Voicelab series in 2009. In 2011. they won silver prize in Rimini, and also, the special prize for the best group up to 12 singers. During 2012. they performed in 3 contests, in Gorizia (ITA) - 1st prize in pop cathegory, Graz (AUT) - bronze in pop cathegory and Rijeka (CRO) - 1st prize in gospel and jazz.  less

Undertakes to be a space for youth have contact with concert choral music. The group sings a diverse and technically challenging repertoire, exploring different sounds and new musical languages. In his repertoire are works by composers as Janequin, Scarlatti, Bach, Beethoven, Whitacre, Widmer, Stroope, Jobim and Ronaldo Miranda. The styles range from classical to popular, jazz, spirituals, sacred music, Brazilian Popular Music, opera and musicals. Since its formation is conducted by Altamiro Bernardes and has Lana Bernardes as assistant conductor.
