The choir recently won the Gold medal for Folklore category and Silver Medal for Children's category in the 6th Grand Prix Pattaya International choir Competition last July 25 - 27, 2013 in Pattaya, Thailand.

Homechoir is a new way of learning music. You don’t need to be an accomplished singer to take part. Homechoir members watch and sing along with Ben - teaching is one-way so nobody can hear us but the neighbours! - and are also invited to take part in the live text chat with Ben and with fellow singers around the world. There is a vibrant and friendly social community among the choir. If you can’t join in live, then you can still enjoy the music-making at any time. All our sessions remain available on YouTube after the live streams end for watching on catch-up when you can, and as often as you like. The mission of the DaCapo Chamber choir is to identify, study, rehearse, and present in public performance and recordings, the outstanding choral chamber works of the past 100 years and to champion music of Canadian and local composers. Our performance season consists of three annual concerts in Kitchener-Waterloo: once in the fall around Remembrance Day, a mid-winter, and a spring concert. In addition, the choir performs on an ad hoc basis at other events. We have worked with numerous choral groups, musicians, and composers since our inaugural season, including the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony, Elora Festival Singers, Kingston Cantabile choirs, Guelph Chamber choir, Penderecki Quartet, Lachan Chamber choir, Willem Moolenbeek, Eric Friesen, Bruce Dow, and Eric Whitacre, to name just a few. During this time the choir has achieved success on many levels: Locally they have received 10 golden diplomas on provincial level for the “ATKV Applous” competition in the category for advanced, mixed high school choirs; and 7 golden diplomas on national level for the same competition. They were the only choir in the history of the Director’s trophy who won the award 8 times and they were also the first to do so in all three categories: mixed- (5 times), boys’- (twice) and girls’ choir (once). They have also received double gold at the Gauteng Eisteddfod, A and A+ awards at the Pretoria Beeld Eisteddfod and first place in their category in more than one local competition. They have annual workshops and master classes with well-known and respected conductors (both locally and internationally) and have hosted many international choirs and groups.
