No membership or previous experience is necessary, although an ability to read MUSIC would be an advantage in our sometimes fast-paced rehearsals. Just turn up and pay £10 on the door. Founded in 1977, the choir has gained a well-deserved reputation for performing neglected and unfamiliar MUSIC as well as better known and popular pieces, both sacred and secular. New members are welcome and encouraged to attend three rehearsals before an informal voice appraisal.  

A group of teachers with exceptional talents, with 28 members that can bring you to a experience where classical and show presentations is present. We believe that MUSIC touches us emotionally where, words alone cant.

The Concert Choir gives a number of performances in Southern California every year, and has also toured in Canada, Hawaii, Europe, and the United States. The Concert Choir performs a variety of accompanied and unaccompanied repertoire, and collaborates annually with the CSUF University Singers to present performances of choral-orchestral masterworks. They have joined the University Singers in performances with the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra and the Pacific Symphony Orchestra. For the past four years they have represented CSUF at the Pacific Southwest Intercollegiate Choral Association Festival of Choirs. Members of the choir are auditioned, multi-generational, and range in age from 17 to senior citizens. Performance MUSIC includes a wide variety of MUSICal styles. Performances take place in local churches, theaters, etc. The Chorale programs two rehearsal and concert seasons each year. Artistic Director & Conductor Jan Lanterman and Associate Conductor Jason Nett conduct rehearsals and performances.

While the majority of the singers are undergraduate MUSIC majors, membership is open to all students at the university through an audition process. The group has achieved an impressive reputation of excellence, having been chosen each of the last twenty years to perform at conventions or festivals around the country: the Pennsylvania MUSIC Educators State Conference; the Eastern Division MUSIC Educators National Conference; the MUSIC Educators National Convention; the American Choral Directors Association Pennsylvania State Conference, and the ACDA Eastern Division Convention. The choir is renowned on the international stage as well, representing the US at competitions and festivals around the world.
