Some youth Beatwaves interviewed disclosed that they preferred Music that would make them dance and that choral Music sometimes was boring. Nonetheless, there is a group of youth who have come together to form a Choir which has made a mark both at home and abroad. the Winneba Youth Choir, known to be the number one choral Music group in the country was founded in May 1989, under the patronage of Mr. George Mensah-Essilfie and Mr. John Francis Arthur-Yamoah (Paa John). the Choir has progressed steadily to the extent that it is now recognized as the most outstanding youth Choir of the nation. Our repertoire spans the centuries, from the Renaissance to the 21st Century. Our particular speciality is folk Music from all over the globe. Cantóirí sings each song in the original language. We are lucky as we have been able to draw on the language skills of Choir members from around the world. Cantóirí perform regularly in Dublin and also enjoy taking part in Choral competitions around the country.

In May, 2013, composer Ola Gjeilo spent 3 days on...  more"Ubi Caritas II: Through Infinite Ages" (Ola Gjeilo) is sung by the Central Washington University Chamber Choir (Gary Weidenaar, director), with an improvised piano accompaniment played by the composer. In May, 2013, composer Ola Gjeilo spent 3 days on the Central Washington University Campus to join the Choir in recording 4 of his pieces. the other three were "Sanctus", "Luminous Night of the Soul", and "Vast Eternal Skies" This performance of Gjeilo's "Ubi Caritas II" is from that session, which included a rendition of the piece sung in in its published (unaccompanied) version as well.
