The programme of inspirational compositions by Beethoven, Brahms, Mendelssohn and Schumann is a perfect prelude to spring and encompasses the Romantic themes of dream, destiny, heroism, and pantheism. Brahms’ Schicksalslied (Song of Destiny) contrasts heavenly bliss with the sorrows of the human condition, while Schumann’s Nachtlied evokes the serene world of sleep. Beethoven’s Coriolan Overture portrays the fall of a once all-conquering hero and Mendelssohn’s Die Erste Walpurgisnacht is a dramatic musical rendition of the clash between nature-worshipping Druidic tradition and new belief in a God disembodied from the natural world.
The concert will be conducted by Andrew Griffiths, with KCS’s partner orchestra the Thames Camerata, and distinguished soloists, Alexandria Moon, Emyr Lloyd Jones and Ambrose Connolly.

The Northamptonshire village of Braunston recently scored something of a coup when the internationally renowned Swingle Singers gave a stunning Performance at All Saints Church on Saturday November 21st, supported by up and coming singer-songwriter Emily Davies, who performed at The Big Chill and Festinho this summer.
The Swingles show, supporting the release of their new album 'Ferris Wheels' features songs by the likes of Nick Drake, Bjork, James Taylor, Joni Mitchell, Stevie Wonder, Sting, and Green Day, and the set also includes their customary covers of Bach and The Beatles with human beatboxing at the heart throughout. Vocal gymnastics at their best, and the choreography is something else too!
