We come together as one mega choir for concerts and other performances at events. Our aim is to build community through gospel music and so we emphasise the fact that we are a choir for anyone to join, no auditions and nor previous experience is required. If you love to sing...we're the choir for you!  

Chapter 8 was formed in September 2008 and comprises members of leading cathedral Choirs and solo performers. Our repertoire, sung in up to eight parts, ranges from the most sublime choral music of all time to popular light favourites. We also ‘premiere’ works by today’s talented new composers and arrangers. Musically, individual members can boast… singing in St Mark’s, Venice; the Duomo, Florence; the Salzburg Festival; performing a vocal recital on a stairlift; recording jingles for local radio and being the first girl chorister to sing for a service in St Paul’s Cathedral, London.  less

Directed for more than ten years by Michael Bawtree, its repertoire spans the Renaissance to the present day and has included the Scottish premieres of works by James Whitbourn, Hans Gál, Jan Dismas Zelenka, Richard Bush and Judith Bingham. The choir performs regularly in Glasgow and central Scotland, and has toured to France, Holland and Sweden, where it has formed links with other Choirs. Recent BBC radio engagements have included William Walton’s Henry V Suite with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, Sunday Worship live and Bryan Burnett’s ‘Get it On’ show live on BBC Radio Scotland. The choir features regularly in Raymond Gubbay’s Christmas Festival in the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall.  less
