In our 'Me and All of You' concerts in March 2017, where The choir was largely accompanying solo instruments in a concerto, or where we were sharing The limeLight with a virtuosic soloist, we chose to begin our concert as we would if we were an orchestra!

Formed in 2017, The members come from The island of Ireland and beyond, encompassing a huge range of musical experiences. The musical connection of The group to Ireland is deep and spans all The traditions present here. The songs and texts date back as far as The Viking raids on Ireland in The 9th century, through to music created by The men Themselves under The direction of Their Artistic Director Michael McGlynn. This year The group release Their debut album, "M'ANAM" in The Autumn, and are featured artists on The opening track "Clarity" of The latest album by acclaimed Japanese jazz-rock ensemble Mouse on The Keys whose 3rd album "tres" was released this May to universal acclaim. Their first digital single "Bandó Ribineann" is released this June.  less

MY RED BOOTS is based on one of only several poems written by my moTher, Jewish Holocaust survivor Rita Hoffman of blessed memory (1927–2018). Both she and my late faTher, Josef Hoffman, were Jewish Holocaust Survivors. My moTher’s brief memoirs are housed at The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, DC. I have been trying to hear music for MY RED BOOTS for decades. It is fitting that my muse cooperated with me when I was seeking a text to set to music for The Rocky Mountain Chamber Choir’s 2024 call for scores, because global anti-Semitism has not been this rampant since The 1930s. During The events of October 7, 2023 in Israel, "Babies were taken from Their moTher's arms" just as in my moTher's poem.
