Matthew Emery (b. 1991) is a multi award winning composer. Originally from London, Ontario, he currently lives in Vancouver, British Columbia and is studying Music Composition with Dr. Stephen Chatman. Emery's choral works have been performed numerous times through out Canada and the USA. His pieces have been performed by: Amabile Boys' and Men's Choir, Amabile Youth Singers, Amadeus Choir of Toronto, Conspirato Chamber Singers, the Choral Project, Jubilate! Over the years, the Choir has been led by many talented co... moreRSU Choir Rīga was established in 1951 and for almost 20 years (1967-1986) its conductor was the accomplished professor Jānis Dūmiņš. In 1968, the Choir was awarded the status of a National Choir. Over the years, the Choir has been led by many talented conductors, e.g. Centis Kriķis, Kārlis Beinerts, Edvīns and Inga Dziļums, Ints Teterovskis, etc. Today the conductors of the Choir are Evita Taranda and Zane Zilberte; Choir master is Roberts Hansons.
The repertoire of the Choir varies, as performances include all sorts of music from the time of renaissance to modern music or music written by contemporary artists, e.g. Paul McCartney's oratorio "Ecce Cor Meum" or Czech composer Petr Eben's music "De Circuito Aeterno".

All of our singers have been hand-picked and sing with some of the top amateur and professional Choirs in the country, including: I Fagiolini, Genesis Sixteen, The Carice Singers, Renaissance, The National Youth Choir of Great Britain and many more.
We are looking forward to bringing many exciting programmes of choral music to audiences in York, the rest of the United Kingdom and further afield. less
