The BASC has been performing on a regular basis on each of Broadway Academy’s Showcase that is held at the e...  moreAbout the BROADWAY ACADEMY SHOW Choir The Broadway Academy Show Choir (BASC) started in 2011 by the Broadway Academy in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The BASC has been performing on a regular basis on each of Broadway Academy’s Showcase that is held at the end of each academic term. Performers of the BASC start from the age from age of 13 and to a maximum age of 28 years old. BASC performs according to a certain theme for each performance. This year for the BICF2018, the BASC has chosen the theme of Hamilton, from the award winning Broadway Musical Hamilton. BASC is under the vocal direction of Dr Casey Broadway and choreography under Ms Nana Eddy. The BASC is modeled after the American Show Choir whereby choristers have to undergo both vocal and choreography training. The Choir has been invited to perform in New York, Los Angeles, Florida and Michigan. BASC hopes that the American Tour will be a reality soon. Recorded live on May 13, 2011, at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Performed by the Apprentice Choir ensemble of the Girl Choir of South Florida. Artistic Director: Wallis Peterson, Accompanist: Susan Dodd. This piece was first debuted by the Girl Choir of South Florida as part of the festival chorus at the Keynote Arts Festival in June 2006. From breakfast on through all the day At home among my friends I stay, But every night I go abroad Afar into the land of Nod. All by myself I have to go, With none to tell me what to do — All alone beside the streams And up the mountain-sides of dreams. The strangest things are there for me, Both things to eat and things to see, And many frightening sights abroad Till morning in the land of Nod.
