This is from Ian's Sundry Songs for SATB, a collection of 5 choral songs published in 2010, which are settings of Tudor Poems. Haunting and contemporary, they also look back to evoke the spirit of the Elizabethan age. Recorded on 14th May 2011 at Treetops Recording Studio, Capel, Surrey, UK by Mark Sugden-Best. Ira Spaulding, born in New York, studied with Robert Simpson at Westminster choir College in Princeton, New Jersey (Bachelor of Music) and also holds a Master of Music in Voice and Choral Conducting from Eastern Kentucky University. He gave numerous recitals in America as well as having taught voice, conducting, vocal pedagogy and literature at several colleges and conducted various vocal ensembles (community oratorio choirs, church choirs, boys choirs and a jazz vocal ensemble). He currently serves on the faculty at City College of New York where he teaches voice, conducting and leads vocal ensembles and choirs.  less
