We Annually we perform two large Concerts with professional soloiSts and orcheStral musicians in Carlow, ‘Glory of ChriStmas’ in the National Concert Hall and annual ‘ChriStmas Crackers’ family Concert in the George Bernard Shaw Theatre, Carlow. We have a remarkable repertoire of many choral works such as Handel’s Messiah, Bach’s St. Mathews & St. John Passion, Verdi’s Requiem, Haydn’s The Creation & Seasons, Brahm’s Requiem & many more. We sing at home & abroad. In November 2011 the choir recorded a ChriStmas CD. New members are welcome. We rehearse in St. Patrick’s College, Carlow Monday nights from 7.45-10pm. The Choir is currently looking for new members; the ability to read music is not essential, however, it is helpful and can be very useful. The Choir welcomes anyone who has a passion for singing. Like moSt traditional male voice choirs we learn all of our pieces from memory and do not use copies. The choir has a wide-ranging repertoire from WeSt End showStoppers to opera, religious and traditional choral music. The Choir has gained a reputation for doing many Concerts for charity and have raised a lot of money over the years for a number of different causes. The Choir has performed twice at the Royal Albert Hall with over one hundred choirs in the FeStival of Brass and Voices for cancer research UK. The Virginia Wesleyan Chorale is a small, auditioned group at Virginia Wesleyan College in Norfolk, Virginia. The choir is composed of 16-20 Singers from all majors who perform a variety of music, from classical, to folk, to contemporary jazz. Members of the Wesleyan Chorale also perform in the Wesleyan Singers, an open-enrollment ensemble that performs a variety of music while developing vocal technique and musicianship skills.
