We may be studying physics, philosophy or French in our off hours, yet once we don the Blue Blazer our voices and hearts are unified in singing about all that is good in the world. It is made up of boys, Girls, women and men from all walks of life and with many levels of musical expertise and experience, who give of their time and talent on an entirely voluntary basis to ...  moreThe Choir at St Mary’s Cathedral is one of Scotland’s finest. It is made up of boys, Girls, women and men from all walks of life and with many levels of musical expertise and experience, who give of their time and talent on an entirely voluntary basis to sing to a professional standard. Membership of the choir currently stands at around thirty-five adults and sixteen to twenty children. The choir’s principal function is to provide the music and help lead the worship at the Cathedral’s two main services every Sunday: Sung Eucharist at 10.30 am and Choral Evensong at 6.30 pm. Services are preceded by a rehearsal, and there is a rehearsal once a week, currently on Thursday evenings. In addition to these important duties, the choir also sings for regular special services, occasional concerts, broadcasts regularly on BBC Radio, has appeared on TV, and every year they sing in one of the great British Cathedrals for a weekend, or sometimes a week. Don't throw away your shot to join us in our milestone 25th season, including songs from Hamilton, Coldplay and Dear Evan Hansen! Are you a legal professional who's looking for a fresh way to connect with your musical interests and like-minded legal eagles while giving back meaningfully to our community? The 80+ voice New York City Bar Chorus ("CBC") will conduct a limited number of auditions (brief, private and low-pressure), with primary focus on baritones, basses and high sopranos, for our fall 2017 cycle. We rehearse about three Tuesday evenings per month, from 7:00 to 8:30 PM, in midtown Manhattan to produce what listeners describe as a professional-quality sound, spanning musical theater, jazz, pop/rock, gospel and classical styles. For example, this fall's repertoire will include sophisticated arrangements of Tony- and Oscar-winning music from Hamilton, Dear Evan Hansen, The Wiz and La La Land. The Ensemble is currently fo...  moreVocal Ensemble GENTLEMEN SINGERS from Hradec Králové was established in 2003. It has become one of the most significant Czech music Ensembles during its history and it is desired not only in the Czech Republic but also abroad. The Ensemble is currently formed by these singers: Jakub Kubín (countertenor), Martin Ptáček (tenor), Lukáš Merkl (tenor), Radek Mach (tenor), Aleš Malý (baritone), Martin Struna (baritone), Richard Uhlíř (bass), and Václav Kovář (bass). The repertoire of the Ensemble includes the periods from the Gregorian chant up till arrangements of modern popular melodies while the most important part is formed by the vocal compositions of the 19th and 20th century, Czech, Moravian and Slovak folk songs and contemporary compositions which were often arranged or even composed directly for the Gentlemen Singers by composers with whom the Ensemble cooperates closely (e.g. Jan Vičar, Jaroslav Krček, Jan Jirásek, Stephen Hatfield, or Mark van Platen). Led by Mrs. Joy Clayton, the Athens Drive High School Choirs perform a range of musical pieces varying from classical to folk to pop. Our favorite composer, and the one whose pieces we most love to perform, is Eric Whitacre.
