Over the last few years the choir has enjoyed a growing reputation for its repertoire of outstanding contemporary MUSIC alongside the established classics. TCS latest performances included The Creation of Haydn, Mendelssohn's Elijah, Mass in Blue of Todd, Rossini's Petite Messe solennelle. The Choir also perform a Christmas Concert every year. Overall we perform three main concerts a year. During its performances TCS enjoys the participation of professional soloists and orchestras and ensembles.
Phil Culling is our accompanist.
With past successes and imaginative programming, TCS is thriving. We are always glad to welcome new singers, regardless of age; especiallly those who enjoy their MUSIC making. We like to rehearse and perform with our sense of humour switched on.

All members of QVE, the singers range in disciplines from MUSIC to Engineering to the Arts.
Afterglow performs frequently throughout St. John’s, including being featured guests on CBC Radio, local television, Festival 500, as well as community concerts and fundraisers. The group writes their own arrangements and began presenting full concerts last spring.

They were under the tutelage of Mojalefa Motloung.
The choir is made up of members from the East Rand which is now affectionately known as Ekurhuleni.
The young men who established the choir in 1990 are now responsible men taking their place in their communities.
We currently have over 35 members of which ages range from 20 to 50.
We are still under the baton of Mojalefa Motloung who also forms part of our Conductors Forum. less

We have a great MUSICal director, immensely skilled and fun to sing for. Every rehearsal gives us something to discover about the MUSIC of all kinds of different styles, how to sing, communication with the audience , keeping time, tuning, rhythm etc. The choir works with MUSICally trained people and singers entirely new to singing; some read MUSIC and some not. We give great concerts, sometimes of classics such as Elijah (Nov 2012), madrigals, anthems, and lighter MUSIC such as the delightful Noah and his Floating Zoo. Like all choirs however we need more singers to keep the choir progressing. We are therefore expanding the ways we reach out to people who might like to give singing a try, or who would like to return to singing after a break, perhaps to have a family or because of a house move. Everyone is welcome (tenors are especially celebrated!!) You will now find the choir has a Facebook page (www.facebook.com/wombournechoral)on which... less
