We are passionate about polyphony! We love to sing Music from regions around the world which have a strong tradition of singing in harmony. Music from Eastern Europe, Georgia, Africa and Jamaica etc finds its way into our repertoire. We also love to sing some beautiful classical works and Mozart, Bortniansky and Bach is much loved by the singers. Most of our Music is unaccompanied, except when our very talented instrumentalists (guitar, harp, cello, ukes, bodhran...) bring their instruments.  less

From historically informed performance of early Music to meticulously prepared classical works to the most exciting current sacred compositions, Te Deum presents beautiful Music in stunning settings. Te Deum was founded by Matthew Christopher Shepard in 2008 to fulfill an expressed need by both singers and audiences in the Kansas City area to present sacred choral Music concerts of the highest quality. The Te Deum Chamber Choir performed its first concert in spring 2009. The CD is expertly conducted by the choir's Musical director, James Sherlock and guest instrumentalists are 17-year old Edward Picton-Turbevill on the organ and award-winning young cellist James Barralet playing the solo part in Sir John Tavener's 'Svyati' for cello and choir.
