We are specifically aimed at experienced singers who want to work quickly in a non-regular rehearsal setting. Imagine a Book Club for Choral singers! Each session every two or three weeks, we will look at a couple of new songs, chosen by differend members of the group, from the whole history of music, form Monvererdi to Madness. We have two experienced conductor/singers who will be happy to lead any session, but all singers will be encouraged to lead their own song choices if they wish. The aim, in the first intance, is to have fun exploring as much choral repertoire as possible, in a fun and collaborative enviroment. We do not intend to book up concerts straight away - once we've had a few meetings and looked at enough repertoire then we'll think about performances. Let's work to get the music right first! Located in the in the heart of Stockholm, these two churches are a renowned center for church music in Sweden. The Choir´s repertoire consists of a cappella works from a wide range of national styles and periods, as well as larger works for Choir and orchestra. The Choir has won several of Europe´s most important competitions including the European Grand Prize for choral music. The Choir has also participated in a wide array of national and international festivals such as the Conference for Swedish Choral Conductors, the Scandinavian Symposium for Sacred Music, the Tolosa Festival in Spain, the IFCM World Symposium in Minneapolis, Sagra Musicale Umbra in Italy, Musica Sacra in Germany, Polyfollia in France, Debrecen Festival in Hungary, and De Internationale Koorbiënnale Haarlem in Holland. Recorded May of 2010 in the CWU music building concert hall. "Carpenters of God" was written specifically for the Chamber Choir's appearance at the 2010 NWACDA Conference. The composer talks about the inspiration for the piece (Weston Noble's visit to CWU in 2009) for the first 65 seconds. The piece is sung beginning at 1:05 in the video. The Choir has also recorded YouTube videos that feature music of Claudio Monteverdi, Ola Gjeilo, John Muehleisen, Einojuhani Rautavaara, and Tomás Luis da Victoria.
